How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A highly respected and forward-thinking construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Central London team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work within a specialist environment delivering complex, high-value projects across mission critical, commercial and infrastructure sectors.

    The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in leading projects from inception through to completion, providing both strategic and hands-on commercial support. This Senior Quantity Surveyor position offers significant client exposure and the chance to work on technically challenging schemes, making it ideal for a driven Senior Quantity Surveyor seeking long-term progression.

    The Role
    * Leading cost planning, benchmarking and feasibility studies as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
    * Managing procurement strategies, tender documentation and bid evaluations
    * Acting as Contract Administrator across JCT and NEC forms of contract
    * Overseeing cost control, risk management and value engineering
    * Managing valuations, variations and final accounts as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
    * Producing detailed cost reports and presenting to clients and stakeholders
    * Mentoring junior team members while delivering projects as a Senior Quantity Surveyor

    The Senior Quantity Surveyor?
    * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
    * Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the UK construction market
    * Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
    * Chartered (MRICS) or actively working towards chartership
    * Excellent commercial acumen and analytical skills
    * Strong communication skills with a client-facing approach
