How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking an Associate Building Surveyor to join a growing team delivering a wide range of building surveying projects across the UK. The building surveyor will work on commercial, residential, refurbishment, and building safety projects. This Associate Building Surveyor role offers the opportunity to manage projects from survey through to completion, while supporting teams and developing your expertise in building surveying. The building surveyor will be based in central London and will contribute to practical solutions and effective project delivery.

    The successful Associate Building Surveyor will be joining an expanding consultancy that continues to grow its market presence. You will work on diverse projects, gain exposure to multiple sectors, and develop your career as a building surveyor within a structured delivery team.

    The Role
    As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will manage projects and support teams throughout the project lifecycle. The role will include:

    Conducting condition surveys, building surveys, and due diligence assessments
    Preparing schedules of condition, licences to alter, and feasibility studies
    Supporting design, refurbishment, and retrofit projects
    Managing contract administration and acting as employers' agent
    Providing advice on statutory compliance, energy performance, and building pathology
    Assisting with project documentation, reporting, and budgetsThe Associate Building Surveyor?
    You will be an experienced building surveyor with a minimum of 5 years' experience in building surveying or property-related construction projects. Applications from candidates without construction-related building surveying experience will not be considered. The ideal building surveyor will have:

    A degree in building surveying or a related property discipline
    Experience in commercial, residential, or refurbishment projects
    Ability to interface with clients and work across multidisciplinary teams
    Knowledge of current issues in building surveying and construction projects
