How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A well-established multidisciplinary construction consultancy is seeking a Building Surveyor to join their expanding team. The building surveyor will work across a range of sectors including Commercial, Residential, and Retail. This building surveyor role will be based in Central London and offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across diverse projects.

    The Company?

    The successful building surveyor will be joining a growing consultancy delivering high-quality services in Building Surveying, Project Management, and related disciplines. This building surveyor will contribute to a team that is involved in a wide range of high-profile London projects.

    The Role

    As the building surveyor you will support Project Team Leaders throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include:

    Undertaking day-to-day project delivery across Commercial, Retail, Corporate, and Residential sectors
    Managing design teams and coordinating multidisciplinary inputs
    Overseeing contract administration and project documentation
    Preparing project reports, programmes, budgets, and feasibility studies
    Conducting measured surveys, site inspections, and producing condition reports

    The Building Surveyor?

    The ideal building surveyor will have a strong background in construction-related roles and a keen interest in delivering effective project outcomes. Applications from non-construction backgrounds will not be considered.

    Essential building surveyor requirements:

    Degree in Building Surveying or a relevant property-related discipline
    Proven experience in Corporate Real Estate, Commercial, Retail, or Residential projects
    Ability to interface with clients and lead multidisciplinary teams
    Knowledge of current issues specific to building surveying and construction projects
