How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A building surveyor is required to join the Commercial Building Surveying team and will be responsible for delivering building surveying projects efficiently, on time, and within budget. The building surveyor will lead major instructions, work closely with cross-functional teams, and support senior management in achieving project objectives. The building surveyor will also contribute to performance management and client engagement, ensuring high standards across all building surveying work.

You will work within a structured delivery team and have opportunities to develop client relationships and project management skills.

    The Role
    As the building surveyor you will be involved in:
    * Undertaking core building surveying work across commercial projects
    * Managing client relationships and ensuring long-term partnerships
    * Leading project instructions and supporting cross-functional teams
    * Preparing project documentation, reports, and financial monitoring
    * Representing the building surveying function at client meetings and external events

    The Building Surveyor?
    You will be a motivated individual with a degree in Building Surveying or a related property discipline. Only candidates with relevant commercial building surveying experience will be considered.

    The building surveyor must have:
    * Demonstrable experience in commercial building surveying projects in the UK
    * Experience managing client interactions and project teams
    * Ability to plan, organise, and deliver projects to deadlines
    * Strong technical knowledge in building surveying
    * Ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues
