How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Purchase Ledger Clerk will play a key role in managing Purchase Ledger processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions.

    This role in the manufacturing industry and is based in Burton-on-Trent, this offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative accounting and finance team with a salary up to £29,000.

    This is a fully on site position in Burton-on-Trent.

    Description

    Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate data entry into the accounting system.
    Manage payment runs, including preparing and processing BACS payments.
    Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
    Handle supplier queries efficiently and maintain strong relationships.
    Assist with month-end closing by ensuring all invoices and payments are accounted for.
    Maintain accurate and organised records of all purchase ledger activities.
    Support the wider accounting and finance team with ad hoc tasks as required.
    Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the purchase ledger function.Profile

    A successful Purchase Ledger Clerk should have:

    A strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and accounting principles.
    Experience working in the manufacturing industry or a similar sector.
    Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
    An eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in financial records.
    Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
    The ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
    A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving processes.
