How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant - Newham Secondary School

    Location: Newham, East London

    Start Date: ASAP / September Start Available

    Contract: Full-Time (Monday - Friday, Term Time Only)

    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

    A forward-thinking and diverse secondary school in Newham is looking to appoint a driven Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students and staff within a busy Maths department. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand experience in education while making a genuine difference to students' academic progress.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Supporting Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 (with potential exposure to KS5)

    Working with students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to reinforce learning

    Assisting teachers with planning resources and lesson delivery

    Helping students develop confidence and problem-solving skills in Maths

    Supporting pupils with different learning needs and abilities

    Contributing to a positive and focused classroom environment

    Candidate Profile:

    A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (2:2 or above)

    An interest in progressing into teaching or a career in education

    Strong numeracy and clear communication skills

    A motivated, patient, and adaptable approach

    Any prior experience with young people is advantageous but not essential
