We are now recruiting for a Flexographic Printer to join our team!
You will be responsible for leading and operating a flexographic print machine whilst ensuring your print operations are conducted in a safe and controlled manner.
As our Printer you will be responsible for:
* Setting up and operating print machinery safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and compliant work area.
* Monitoring and delivering production orders, ensuring print quality is consistently high.
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including BRC, ISO and A2 permit.
* Carrying out print inspections, troubleshoot issues, and resolve non-conformities with support from colleagues.
* Applying lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and SMED, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
* Accurately completing all paperwork, electronic data, and change request forms.
* Conducting thorough shift handovers, ensuring smooth transitions between shifts.
* Performing press changeovers and run speeds in line with KPIs, minimising waste during print runs.
Quality focused, with a high level of attention to detail, you will be able to demonstrate that you are:
* Fully trained Flexographic Printer – relevant Print qualifications City + Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 an advantage
* Additional qualifications e.g. fire safety, first aid etc. an advantage but not essential
* Good level of literacy and numeracy, preferably GCSE level in English and Maths or equivalent
* Extensive flexographic print experience, specifically with experience of solvent based inks and wide web presses
* Experience of Fischer + Krecke 16S or Bobst 20SIX CI print machines an advantage.
* Strong background in manufacturing, either label or packaging printing
* Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement techniques an advantage
* Plate mounting experience an advantage also.
* Experience of overseeing the work of others on the print press
* Considerable exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.
Print roles operate across the following shift patterns:
Printers operating the F&K machine, they will work a 12 hour shift pattern, spread over a rotating 4 week cycle. This will typically be:
* Week 1 – 4 nights, 3 off
* Week 2 – 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights
* Week 3 – 3 off, 4 days
* Week 4 – 7 off
