How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Biological Sourcing Specialist
    Location: Hybrid role with 2-3 days in a Sussex based office per week
    Salary: £26,000
    A specialist supplier of research material to the broader Life Science industry. This global organization works with customer and clinics globally to provide consultative solutions for the access and procurement of biological material. They have a worldwide reputation for quality of supply, customer service and innovation. You’ll be working with the go-to name in the industry and supporting in the development the development of drugs and therapeutic interventions.
    JOB OVERVIEW
    The successful individual will take a key role in the procurement of biospecimens to customer specifications. This will involve detailed consultative communication with customers to full understand their product specifications. This role will also required details desk research skills; an excellent telephone manner and strong written communication skills. Fluency in English is essential. You will also need excellent analytical skills and organization skills as you’ll be responsible for managing stock levels.
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    * Direct communication (phone, email, video meetings) to build robust relations with customers and suppliers
    * Close collaboration with internal teams to ensure the smooth fulfillment of orders
    * Network with suppliers to secure biomaterial for customers where appropriate and negotiate for best prices
    * Ensure compliance with QA and regulatory requirements
    * Strong organization and time management – communicating clearly with customers over the status of orders; keeping them up-to-date with procurement, shipments and deliveries
    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    * Degree qualified in a life science related discipline
    * Previous customer experience and procurement/purchasing/sales order management related experience preferred
    * Fluent in English with strong communication skills (face to face, phone and written)
    * Highly organized, proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadline
    * IT literate and a quick learner with new software packages
    * Target driven, customer aware
    * Passionate about Life Sciences
    * A positive work effort, committed to a role and to exceeding customers expectations
