How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Workshop Team Leader (Huddersfield Workshop)

    Job title: Workshop Team Leader

    Location: Huddersfield

    Salary: £36,000 pa + pension + other benefits.

    Hours: Mon – Fri, 7:30am to 4:30pm

    This is a roasting hot opportunity to join one of the leading names within the coffee industry as we are seeking a Workshop Team Leader to be based in Huddersfield.

    Overall Objective: To manage a workshop comprising of up to 10 staff and the overall responsibility of the premises. Key skills – Leadership, management, process management and production management.

    The role:

    * Manage a small team of multi-skilled workshop engineers conducting the refurbishment of mechanical components.

    * Proven leadership and management skills in a target driven environment are a must.

    * A technical background would be advantageous but not essential.

    * An aptitude and desire to gather technical knowledge is required.

    * To lead and manage the team will require good communication, planning and process management skills, preferably borne out of practical experience in a similar environment or out of directly transferable experience.

    * The role holder will require the skills necessary to achieve targets to tight deadlines whilst maintaining good working harmony within the team; often with minimal supervision.

    * Problem solving, self-motivation and a desire to succeed are required.

    * Candidates with a basic knowledge of Lean processes are of particular interest.

    * Basic Outlook, Excel and Word skills are required.

    * Key Contacts: Internal: Supply Chain, Facilities, Warehouse and Logistics, Regional Service Management Team, Technical Support Team, Field Engineers and HR.

    Requirements:

    * Reporting to the Workshop Manager will oversee and be responsible for the performance of the following sections: Module Refurbishment section, Trays and Hydraulics.

    * Liaise with other sections and managers/team leaders to ensure action plans are put in place to deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

    * Performance management of the team to ensure optimum efficiency is achieved including conducting annual appraisals, coaching and mentoring, interviewing and disciplinary procedures.

    * Responsible for parts inventory and the monitor of stock levels.

    * As a minimum the following will come under the remit of the Team Leader:

    * Maintain quality and standards of work. Record timekeeping and productivity.

    * Health and Safety Standards and Manual Handling Procedures.

    * The maintenance and condition of the workshop equipment.

    * General housekeeping and cleanliness of the workshop.

    * Presentation of personnel, equipment and documentation to act as a member of the middle management team by maintaining general standards.

    * Responsible for the security of the building during operating hours, Keyholder responsibilities, Fire & First-aid duties

    The Person:

    * Exceptional Management Skills: Engineering qualification C&G Level 3 or ONC, as well as experience ideally in a Technical Management role, Lean experience required Six Sigma qualification desirable but not essential.

    * Communication skills articulate, with a high standard of verbal clarity skilled at establishing rapport verbally with customers, strong questioning and listening skills building networks internally with other departments.

    * Results driven able to consistently work towards and meet/exceed daily, weekly, monthly and annual targets on a wide range of performance measures.

    * Self-Reliance, self-motivated and resilient. Work under pressure able to work speedily without compromising quality, flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances.

    * Teamwork ensures personal objectives are in harmony with team and corporate objectives, works within team to maintain and improve strong working relationships which facilitate the highest standards of customer service and productivity.

    * Organisational/Analytical Skills effective time management, balancing reactive and proactive activities in a high-volume environment.
