An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established and highly regarded building services consultancy based in Sunderland.
Our client is an award-winning consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality electrical and mechanical (M&E) design solutions across a wide range of sectors including commercial, education, healthcare, residential, and industrial projects. Established in 1998, the business operates both nationally and internationally, with a collaborative and technically strong workforce.
The Role
You will be responsible for the design and delivery of electrical building services systems, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Electrical design of building services systems including lighting, power, and fire & security systems
* Producing calculations, specifications, and technical drawings
* Supporting project delivery across multiple sectors
* Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams
* Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and sustainability standards
Requirements
* Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
* Experience in electrical design within a consultancy environment
* Proficiency with industry software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, or similar)
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Working towards or achieved Chartered status (desirable)
