How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
    Location: Dinnington
    Salary: £460 – £600 per week
    Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time, Long-term / Day-to-day
    Start Date: Immediate

    A specialist or inclusive secondary setting in Dinnington is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

    About the School:
    This setting in Dinnington is focused on providing a structured, supportive and trauma-informed learning environment where students with SEMH needs can access education, build trust with staff, and develop positive routines that support both learning and wellbeing.

    About the Role:
    As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them to engage in learning, regulate emotions and develop positive behaviour strategies. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide consistent support throughout the school day.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Support students with SEMH needs in lessons and during structured activities
    Provide 1:1 and small group support where required
    Help implement behaviour and support strategies in line with school policy
    Support students in regulating emotions and building positive routines
    Assist teaching staff in maintaining a calm and structured learning environment
    Encourage engagement, confidence and independence in learning
    Work closely with pastoral and safeguarding teams
    Requirements:

    Experience working with young people with SEMH, behavioural needs or in similar settings
    Strong communication and relationship-building skills
    Calm, consistent and resilient approach
    Ability to support students with challenging behaviour positively
    Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
