How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Multi Utility Design Engineer

    Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk (2 days/week working from home available)

    £48-57K plus excellent pension and benefits

    Are you an experienced Design Engineer with experience of designing utility (gas/water/electric/fibre or heat) networks looking to work for a large, national utility infrastructure company who will progress you career?

    The company are well known for their professionalism and staff progression. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in one utility to be trained to become fully Multi utility.

    The role will focus on the design of offsite utility infrastructure , working on new projects.

    The Role

    Full time permanent role with a large national utility infrastructure business
    Production of offsite / enabling utility designs for new project awards (HV / LV / Gas / Water and Fibre)
    Review off site video / site wide survey to produce an off-site design fit for construction
    Extensive client liaison
    The Person

    Academic/working background in design engineering
    Experience in the design of one of gas, water, electric, fibre, and heat networks.
    Experience in designing offsite utilities for new housing/mixed-use developments.
    UK driving licence is essential
