How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Migrant Help have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Employability Client Adviser to join our team!

    Location: Kent (Home based)

    Contract: Fixed term until 31 March 2028, with potential to be extended or made permanent 

    Salary: £29,498 - Increasing to £33,590 following successful completion of a 6 months probation period

    The Employability Client Adviser role:

    Part of the Strategic Projects team, the Connect to Work Employability Client Adviser is a new and exciting role at Migrant Help. Connect to Work is a new initiative that offers enhanced support to defined cohorts of legally recognised refugees in the UK. Starting in April 2026, the programme will provide tailored support for each participant focussed on gaining sustainable employment. There is a strong emphasis on the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model in the delivery of this programme.

    Key responsibilities of our Employability Client Adviser:

    Take responsibility for engaging with potential clients, explaining eligibility and bringing in referrals to the programme as part of a coordinated team approach.

     Be accountable for your caseload of assigned clients and working with them to address their learning, integration and employment needs in line with both contractual requirements and the individual’s needs.  

    Building rapport and a positive working relationship with each client.

    Assessing the client’s starting position to decide how to best meet their needs.

    Creating and following through with individual Personal Development Plans, ensuring appropriate and effective activity is undertaken by each client.

    Develop Employer engagement activities and build key relationships with local employers

    Providing challenge, advice, and guidance where appropriate, to develop clients’ capability in the recruitment process ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment.

    The experience and skills you need to become our Employability Client Adviser:

    ?Experience in the management of a caseload of individual clients according to a set of contractual standards and requirements

    ?Experience of providing one-to-one support and coaching to individuals with the ability to constructively challenge where needed

    Ability to reflect on ways to continuously improve service deliver

    Ability to write short, accurate reports and feedback on service operational achievements
