How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Apprenticeships Skills Coach – Sports Programmes

    Reporting to: Operations Manager

    Location: Home-based

    Hours of Work: Full Time Monday to Friday

    Travel: You may be required be required to travel to various locations. You will have a full UK driving licence and when required be able to use your own vehicle which must be insured for use on business using your own vehicle.

    DBS Check: AC Training is committed to safeguarding. For specific job roles post holders will be subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

    Remuneration: From £32,000 depending on experience

    Based in Shrewsbury, AC Training has been an established training provider since 2009. For the majority of our history, we have focused on commercial training in areas such as leadership and management, career advice and guidance, coaching and mentoring and business development. But now we have moved into Sports Coaching and Community based coaching Apprenticeships.

    We have been actively delivering Apprenticeships since December 2017. Through our focus on delivering the highest standards to both our learners and employers, we have been fortunate to grow our apprenticeship provision significantly over the last few years. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our provision is innovative and creative, supporting the needs of our learners.

    We have introduced a new range of standards across Sports and Coaching including Community Activator Coach, Community Sport and Health Officer, Sports Coach, and Sporting Excellence Professional

    Role Purpose

    As a Skills Coach with AC Training, you will be responsible for the creation of learning resources, this will range from engaging self-study activities to lesson plans, presentations and sourcing additional resources for those looking for stretch and challenge. You will deliver one-to-one coaching and training to groups of your allocated learners. You will be responsible for teaching, mentoring, coaching and developing the learners in line with the relevant curriculum, ensuring their individual goals are achieved and maximising their outcomes at End Point Assessment (EPA). You will be responsible for the training and coaching of each individual learner in a group setting and on a one-to-one basis. You will manage and support their learner journey, through regular sessions with them both remotely and face-to-face. You will support the engraining of knowledge, the development of new skills and over the course of their programme the changing of behaviours in line with the apprenticeship curriculum. You will be responsible for supporting the preparation of the learner and their portfolio of evidence for timely EPA. You will be required to submit a monthly report on learner progress and meet with your line manager monthly to discuss learner progress and address any concerns. We combine both remote working with face-to-face activity including observations. The use of virtual platforms e.g. Teams and Zoom is allowing for a blended learning experience and is making both delivery and support of learners flexible and to individual needs.

    Skills, Knowledge & Experience

    * You will have a full UK driving licence and be able to travel to different locations using your own vehicle if required

    * You will have experience within the Coaching sector, ideally within community settings

    * You will have a broad understanding of the theories and knowledge around the subject and its application in the workplace

    * You must have an understanding of different learning styles and how to flex your approach to meet learners needs

    * You must have knowledge of data protection and GDPR requirements

    * You must have an understanding of health and safety in supporting learners and yourself

    * This will role require you to understand and comply with the ‘Promote Safeguarding and Protect’ requirements

    * You must have experience of providing a service to external clients and an understanding of good customer service standards

    * Ideally you should have a successful track record in Community and/or Sports Coaching and be able to use your experience to support the development of your learners

    * Ideally a successful track record in either education or Apprenticeships and be able to use your experience to support the development of your learners

    * You may have previously planned or developed teaching and learning resources for selfstudy and group sessions

    * You may have had experience in feeding back to individuals on work that they have completed that you have observed or work that has been provided to.
