How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

From the design department in Hinckley to the workshops of our dealers, everyone at Triumph works with passion and pride on the award-winning motorcycles that excite and engage our customers.

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Temporary Industrial Placement- HMI Design Engineer to join our Electrical/ Electronic systems team in Hinckley. This is a unique opportunity for a design related student to develop and test a broad range of skills in a thriving environment.

In this role, you will work within the Electrical Electronic Systems team and gain broad exposure to the full lifecycle of automotive HMI development, from initial design through to production. You’ll contribute to key areas including UI and interaction design, HMI feature development, and User Acceptance Testing across our instrument clusters and connected systems. This placement offers valuable insight into how designers collaborate within an industrial environment, helping you understand how individual design decisions fit into the wider manufacturing and development process.

As a student HMI Design Engineer, you will immerse yourself in essential engineering processes, including:

    * Support UAT activities, including setup, test script creation, and reporting.

    * Conduct research and benchmarking on digital interfaces and emerging automotive trends.

    * Assist in developing and maintaining HMI design systems, colour palettes, and interaction patterns, including managing Figma project updates.

    * Opportunity for secondary rotation within Marketing or Technical Publications.

    * Complete an induction programme to prepare for initial projects.

    * Work effectively within an open‑plan, collaborative team environment.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

    * Undergraduates currently studying Product Design, UI Design, Graphic Design, or related visual/digital design disciplines.

    * Familiarity with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.).

    * Strong visual design skills and understanding of layout, typography, and colour.

    * Modules or coursework involving UX, interaction design, motion design or human factors would be an advantage

    * Experience with Jira or similar project‑tracking tools. Exposure to prototyping, animation, or 3D tools would be an advantage

This position is based in Hinckley, and we offer a range of benefits to our industrial placement students, including:

    * A strong track record of industrial placement students progressing to full-time positions after graduation.

    * Access to our IMechE accredited Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS), supported by a network of Chartered mentors dedicated to your growth.

    * Free parking, early finish on Fridays, discounted canteen, free tea & coffee, discounted Triumph clothing, and more.
