How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Provide technical support to site teams, including fault diagnosis and troubleshooting.

    * Review and verify EC&I drawings and documentation produced by other engineers.

    * Ensure adherence to electrical and safety regulations and company processes.

    * Contribute to Non-Conformance Report (NCR) resolution and raise NCRs when necessary.

    * Maintain strong collaboration with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.

    * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, knowledge transfer, and innovative design solutions.

    * Flexibility to work overtime to meet project deadlines as required.

    Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

    * Qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).

    * Proven experience with automated doors, access systems, or similar electro-mechanical systems.

    * Strong understanding of electrical systems, control circuits, and fault-finding.

    * Knowledge of UK Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 and Machinery Directive principles.

    * Familiarity with relevant standards (BS EN 16005, BS EN 12453, BS ISO (phone number removed) & 2, BS EN 60204, BS EN 7671).

    * Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.

    * Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software (preferably AutoCAD 2D / Inventor 3D).

    * Ability to independently design compliant EC&I systems and produce associated documentation.

    * Experience generating hand and software-based calculations.

    * Understanding of PLC software packages is advantageous.

    * Strong focus on quality, output, and team motivation.

    * Experience with industrial and powered door systems, including roller shutters, sectional doors, and sliding doors.

    * ECS/CSCS card and SC Clearance eligibility.

    * Experience with safety-critical systems in nuclear, defence, or heavy industry environments.

    * Advanced knowledge of standards such as BS EN 16005, BS EN 12453, BS EN ISO 13849, and BS EN 60204.
