How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Design Engineer (Highly Technical Development)

    £35,000 - £39,000 + Further Technical Training + Flexible Working Hours (37.5 hours per week) + Private Pension + Holidays

    Office based, WFH Friday's, Commutable from Bridgewater, Taunton, Street, Chard, Yeovil, Tiverton, Weston Super Mare and surrounding

    Are you an ambitious Mechanical Engineer looking to oversee projects from cradle to grave within a globally established special purpose machinery manufacturer, where you will receive further technical training and the scope to further progress as a task expert, all whilst retaining a fantastic work life balance with WFH Friday's?

    This is a rare and exciting opportunity, where you will feel valued, technically challenged and thrive in a close knit environment all whilst furthering your career?

    This company, have a team of 20 in the UK, and are part of a global manufacturer, they invest in their team and due to further growth they are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to take projects from cradle to grave.

    This role will suit an ambitious Mechanical Engineer looking to oversee projects from cradle to grave within a globally established special purpose machinery manufacturer, where you will receive further technical training and the scope to further progress as a task expert, all whilst retaining a fantastic work life balance with WFH Friday's.

    The Role:
    *Overseeing Projects from cradle to grave, BOM's, 2D and Mainly 3D designs (inventor but will be trained) through to Technical authoring and oversight of assembly
    *working on existing products, reverse engineering products and NPI
    *Monday to Thursday in the office, with remote working on Fridays, 37.5 hours per week with flexi start timing between 8am/9am
