How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Registered Children's Home Manager

    Lead the day-to-day running of a children's home, ensuring safe, high-quality care for children with complex needs. You'll shape support for children with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, significant physical impairments and/or complex health needs.

    Role details

    Up to £55,387 upon completion of probation and the relevant Level 5 qualification.

    The role

    As the Registered Children's Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the management and leadership of the home. The role exists to provide consistent, effective care and support that meets regulatory standards and the individual needs of each child. You will use your experience in children's residential settings to guide practice and maintain a safe, nurturing environment.

    What you'll be doing

    - Leading the overall operation of the children's home in line with regulatory requirements.
    - Overseeing care and support for children with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, physical impairments and complex health needs.
    - Providing supervision, guidance and support to staff working within the home.
    - Ensuring care planning, recording and review processes reflect each child's needs and progress.
    - Promoting a safe, nurturing environment that supports children's development and well-being.
    - Working directly with children as needed to model best practice and maintain high standards of care.

    What we're looking for

    - At least two years' experience working in a children's home within the last five years.
    - At least one year's experience in a supervisory or management role in a children's home.
    - Experience of direct work with people who have moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or autistic spectrum conditions.
    - Experience supporting people with significant physical impairments and/or complex health needs.
    - Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent, or willingness to commence within three months of appointment.
