How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Design Project Manager
    Birmingham - Curzon Station
    £75,000 - 85,000 per annum plus package dependent on experience

    We are seeking an experienced and driven Design Project Manager (Design PM) to join the team in Birmingham, supporting the delivery of the landmark HS2 Curzon Station project.
    This is a pivotal role where you will lead and coordinate all aspects of design on behalf of the Lead Design Manager, ensuring seamless integration, compliance, and delivery across a complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure programme.

    Responsibilities:
    - Lead and track detailed design programmes from IDC through to IFC stages
    - Manage and control the overall design programme, including change management
    - Deliver clear, dashboard-driven reporting and escalate risks/issues proactively
    - Coordinate closely with HS2 Design PM to ensure aligned communication
    - Oversee work package deliverables, including reviews, approvals, and progress tracking
    - Ensure timely production and management of TIDPs and MIDPs through assurance processes
    - Support development of MEP and fit-out design deliverables
    - Promote a collaborative, safety-first culture aligned with project objectives
    - Assist in maintaining and updating the Design Management Plan (DMP)
    - Manage design-related costs, risks, opportunities, and change control

    About You:
    You are a confident communicator and experienced design leader, comfortable operating at both project and board level. You thrive in complex environments and bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

    Skills & Competencies:
    - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    - Strong leadership and team management capability in multi-disciplinary environments
    - Highly organised with strong planning and time management skills
    - Solid understanding of UK health & safety and construction regulations, including:
    - Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
    - CDM Regulations 2015
    - Relevant construction and safety legislation

    Qualifications & Experience:
    - Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline
    - Chartered status (e.g. ICE) or equivalent professional membership
    - Proven experience in a similar role within a large engineering or infrastructure organisation
