Location: Sevenoaks
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Setter / Operator to join their growing manufacturing team in Sevenoaks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in setting and operating CNC machinery who takes pride in producing high-quality components to extremely tight tolerances.
This role would suit a detail-oriented machinist who enjoys precision engineering and is keen to further develop their technical skills, with the added opportunity to learn CNC programming over time.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machines to manufacture precision components in line with production drawings and specifications. The position requires a strong understanding of machining processes, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and operate CNC machines safely and efficiently
* Produce components to high precision and tight tolerances
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Carry out in-process inspection checks to ensure quality standards are met
* Make offsets and adjustments where required to maintain accuracy
* Ensure machines are running efficiently and output targets are achieved
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
* Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to support production requirements
* Learn and develop CNC programming skills as part of ongoing progression opportunities
Requirements
* Previous experience as a CNC Setter / Operator
* Strong ability to work to fine tolerances and high levels of accuracy
* Experience working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
* Ability to read and understand technical/engineering drawings
* Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
* Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable
* Experience with a range of CNC machinery
* Any previous exposure to CNC programming
* Engineering or manufacturing qualifications
