How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Job Role Details:

    We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Dairy Herdsperson to join this family run dairy farm in the West Midlands.

    You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the daily operations of the farm.

    As Dairy Farm Herdsperson you will engage in activities such as milking, feeding, animal care and welfare.

    Currently milking around 380 dairy cow herd, with plans to develop to a 420 dairy cow herd in the near future.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas to promote safety and efficiency.
    Provide care for livestock, including feeding, cleaning, bedding and scraping out.
    General farm maintenance work around the farm including field fencing.
    Monitor herd health and treat illness, and calving support.
    Carry out milking routines and maintain parlour hygiene and equipment.
    Detect mastitis and other production-related health issues.
    Prepare and manage feed rations to maintain productivity and condition.
    Handle and move cattle safely between housing, grazing, and milking areas.
    Maintain accurate records on health, breeding, and milk yields.
    Clean and maintain farm facilities and operate basic machinery.
    Follow biosecurity protocols and work with vets, managers, and team members.Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:

    Dairy farming experience, working in a similar role.
