How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Technical Sales Manager – Energy & Oil and Gas (Northern UK)

    £55,000 Basic + Car / Car Allowance + 10–15% Bonus

    The Opportunity

This is not your average sales role.

We’re partnering with a globally recognised engineering solutions provider that has built a dominant position in its market through innovation, technical excellence, and a relentless focus on customer success.

They’re now looking for a commercially driven Technical Sales Manager to take ownership of the Marine & Offshore space across Northern England and Scotland — someone who can open doors, influence specifications, and turn relationships into long-term revenue.

If you thrive on winning projects from concept stage through to completion, this is where you make your mark.

    What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll operate at the sharp end of the business — driving growth, building influence, and positioning solutions where they matter most:

    * Target and win marine & offshore projects across oil & gas and maritime sectors

    * Engage key decision-makers: owners, operators, engineers, contractors, and OEMs

    * Drive specification-led sales, getting solutions embedded early in the design phase

    * Build opportunities from cold through to approved supplier status

    * Deliver compelling technical presentations to multidisciplinary engineering teams

    * Grow and retain key accounts while actively developing new business

    * Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums

    * Provide pre-sales technical input and support bespoke solution development

    * Manage your pipeline strategically using CRM and market intelligence

    What They’re Looking For

This role suits someone who blends technical credibility with commercial instinct:

    * Proven background in technical or engineering sales

    * Experience selling into marine, offshore, oil & gas, or OEM environments

    * Strong track record of influencing engineers and project stakeholders

    * Ability to manage long, complex sales cycles and high-value projects

    * Confident presenter with the ability to sell value over price

    * A natural relationship builder who can open new doors and grow accounts

    * Structured, strategic, and self-sufficient in territory management

    Why This Role Stands Out

    * £55K base salary with a strong bonus structure (10–15%)

    * Company car or car allowance

    * High level of autonomy — own your region and make it your own

    * Work with a respected, premium engineering brand

    * Be involved in major, high-profile offshore and marine projects

    * Clear opportunity to shape growth in a key UK market
