How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lecturer in Vocational Business 

    Location: Position Available at Newcastle College Site
    Full and Part Time Positions Available
    Salary:  £32,136 - £42,848 depending on experience and qualifications

    The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2,000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes.     We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual with relevant experience to teach on our outstanding business courses.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, suitably qualified individual who will play a crucial role in realising the department’s strategic objectives. You will be an inspiring lecturer with a background in delivering Vocational Business and the ability to deliver varied, high quality and imaginative sessions and have a record of good achievement rates.

    You will be teaching across a range of units on the BTEC Level 2 and 3 curriculum, ranging from finance, branding, visual merchandising, team building and many others. We are also excited to be delivering the T-Level in Business Management and Administration from September 2023.

    Our ideal candidate will be an inspiring lecturer who has a proven record of innovation and a pro-active approach to delivery including to Level 2 and the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business. You will have also demonstrated an understanding and sensitivity towards the needs of your learners and use this to help them reach their true potential.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    To deliver high quality teaching on Business across the full range of the department’s provision. This may involve remote teaching, learning and assessment, via appropriate platforms when required.
    Play an active role in the marketing of the College and the Department through such activities as open days and through liaison with local employers and schools.
    Engage in core duties including preparation, marking, monitoring student progress, preparing reports, setting and marking of examination papers, developing and preparing flexible learning materialsRequired Skills and Experience:

    Holds a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
    Has an appropriate teaching qualification, support given with this if required
    Ideally has relevant teaching experience at Business Level 3 Extended Diploma within the FE sector
    Is an effective communicator and has good organisational skills.
    Understanding of law and legal services within the business sector is advantageousWhat’s in it for you?
