How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor (Property Services)

    Location: Gloucestershire
Team: Property Services - Insurance & Disaster Recovery

    About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our busy Property Services division, specialising in the swift and professional delivery of property recovery and reinstatement solutions within the insurance marketplace. Our team responds rapidly to properties affected by impact, fire, flood and other insured perils, making them safe and facilitating high-quality reinstatement with minimal business interruption.

As part of this role, you will work closely with insurers, loss adjusters and delivery partners to survey damaged structures, produce technical assessments and guide buildings safely from assessment through to recovery planning.

    The Role:

Conduct detailed building and loss surveys on properties affected by insured perils (fire, flood, impact, etc.)
Assess structural damage and make safe recommendations in line with best practice.
Prepare professional, clear survey reports detailing scope of works and reinstatement recommendations to support insurance claims.
Work collaboratively with insurers, loss adjusters, supply chain partners and internal teams to progress reinstatement strategies and follow-up work plans.
Manage multiple survey assignments, prioritising health & safety, customer care and deadlines.

    About You:

    Essential:

Background in building surveying, construction, general works or a related technical discipline.
Experience undertaking property surveys, condition assessments, or reinstatement recommendations.
Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
Ability to travel to site locations and manage field-based work.
    Full UK driving licence.
    Desirable:

Membership of a professional body (e.g., MRICS / AssocRICS / MCIOB).
Experience within insurance-related surveying or disaster recovery work.
Familiarity with preparing costed schedules of works or use of client portal/scoping tools.

    Why Join Us?

Opportunity to work on varied and challenging projects ranging from commercial buildings to critical facilities.
Be part of an agile team delivering high-impact property recovery services across the region.
Supportive working environment with opportunities for professional growth and continuing development.
Competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience.
