How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Client Associate

    Edinburgh (Hybrid)

    £26-30k DoE

    About the role

Storm ID is an award winning Edinburgh-based digital transformation consultancy that helps organisations accelerate their use of digital, data and AI. We believe in tailored solutions, assembling expert teams to address each client's unique needs. Our services span strategy, design, technology and data & AI, ensuring seamless end-to-end delivery of platforms, products and services with real-world impact. What sets us apart is our commitment to long-lasting and sustainable, data-driven, user-centred change. We enjoy close collaboration between our teams, ensuring projects move smoothly from discovery to design to delivery. We recognise the crucial link between digital and data, creating intelligent services that leverage both. We work with a range of clients across the Scottish and UK public and private sectors.

This is an entry level role - you don’t need to have done this before. We’re looking for someone curious, commercially aware and ready to learn. You’ll join our client partner team, supporting a portfolio of client accounts while building real skills in relationship management, commercial thinking and digital delivery.

AI is changing how we work. From day one you’ll be expected to use AI tools to augment your work — whether that’s drafting communications, preparing reports or researching client opportunities. We’ll support you to build these skills as part of your onboarding.

    What you’ll do

    • Your day-to-day will span client relationships, commercial management and delivery support:
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with existing clients, acting as their first point of contact at Storm
    • Scope small projects, prepare quotes and help write statements of work in plain English
    • Manage revenue: forecasting, invoicing and maintaining hosting and support contracts
    • Work alongside project managers to support successful delivery
    • Research and identify opportunities for upselling to clients based on market trends and innovation
    • Identify opportunities to grow client accounts and escalate promising leads
    • Develop your knowledge of Storm’s full range of digital services

    About you

You might be a recent graduate, a career changer, or someone earlier in their career looking for a step up. What matters most:

    • Naturally inquisitive – a people person, excited by building relationships and gaining insight into different industries
    • Confident communicator - comfortable talking to clients and colleagues at all levels; confident drafting client-facing documents to a high standard
    • Commercially aware - you understand the link between good client relationships and profit, and like the idea of supporting clients with their budgets
    • Organised and detail-oriented - you can manage multiple tasks without things slipping
    • Curious about digital innovation and technology - you follow the space and want to understand what’s changing
    • Comfortable with AI tools - or genuinely keen to get there quickly
    • Collaborative - you share credit, ask for help when you need it and support the people around you

    What We Offer

We offer flexible working which includes hybrid. We want to make sure our people have the flexibility to be the best they can be. However, for this role we are ideally looking for someone Edinburgh based (or nearby) who can commit to spending a few days a week in the office; we truly believe face to face helps maximise the role’s learning opportunities and that the Storm office culture creates a thriving workplace environment.

We believe in rewarding our people for the great work that they do. The benefits we offer include:

    • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
    • 33 days of leave — that includes 4 statutory days over Christmas and New Year, with all other bank holidays included as regular leave you can take whenever you want
    • Paid training and development (after 3 months)
    • Performance related pay reward (after 1 year)
    • Additional £400 per year contribution to be used on a health and wellbeing item of your choice (after 1 year)
    • Employer pension contribution of 5% p.a.
    • Increase of annual leave allowance up to an extra 5 days (after 5 years)
    • Shopping discounts with Reward Gateway
    • Life insurance (after 1 year)
    • Family benefits including enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave and flexible family-friendly hours
    • In office benefits such as end of month drinks and fortnightly office masseuse

    Our Hiring Process

We want to get to know more about you during our hiring process. We want to understand your motivations and what drives you. Please get in touch with your CV, following which if successful the next step will be a short informal interview with our Recruitment Co-ordinator.

One more thing — research indicates that marginalised groups of people may not apply for jobs unless they meet 100% of the qualifications. We also know that many professionals come from various backgrounds. We value people who bring unique perspectives and new knowledge to our team. If you believe you're qualified, but don't "check all the boxes", please apply.
