How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Opportunity: Welding Machine Operator - Stockton-on-Tees

Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business, specialising in the design and production of bespoke filtration and separation systems for industries such as pharmaceutical, food & beverage, water treatment, nuclear, oil & gas, and aerospace. Known for their precision and innovation, they deliver engineered solutions that meet demanding operational and regulatory standards.

They are now looking for a Welding Machine Operator to join their growing team. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, operating machinery, and contributing to the manufacture of high-quality engineering products.

    What's the Difference?

This is not a manual welder role, as a Welding Machine Operator you'll be required to set up, operate, and monitor automated welding machines. The role also includes polishing welded components and light mechanical assembly work, making it ideal for someone practical, detail-focused, and keen to develop in engineering manufacturing.

    What You'll Need

A good understanding of welding practices and principles.
    General knowledge of engineering practices.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Strong attention to detail and a diligent work ethic.
Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.
Clear communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
Willingness to learn and grow with the company. What You'll Do

Machine Operation - Safely and efficiently operate automated welding machines as a Welding Machine Operator.
Polishing & Assembly - Perform mechanical polishing of welded components and assist with light mechanical assembly/fitting.
Workshop Support - Provide support to the workshop and welding supervisors as needed.
Health & Safety - Follow company safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment. Desirable Experience

    Previous experience in welding essential.
Machine operation, or engineering experience preferred.
    Background in mechanical assembly or manufacturing. Hours - 38.5 Mon - Thurs 8 - 4.30, Fri 8 - 3.
    Pay £15 - £17.50ph

    Why Apply?
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Welding Machine Operator who is looking to develop their skills and grow within a supportive, established business. Our client values their people and offers the chance to build a secure, long-term career
