How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role Overview

    The Trainee Team Leader will supervise and coordinate daily primary processing operations, ensuring:

    · Production targets are met
    · High food safety and hygiene standards
    · Compliance with animal welfare regulations
    · A strong health & safety culture

    You will lead a team of operatives while working closely with technical, planning, and engineering teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    · Lead, supervise, and support primary processing operatives
    · Allocate tasks and ensure team members understand responsibilities
    · Monitor performance and provide coaching or guidance
    · Maintain discipline and ensure company policies are followed
    Production Management
    · Ensure daily production targets are achieved safely and efficiently
    · Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or processes to improve productivity
    · Coordinate with other departments such as lairage, packing, and quality control

    Health & Safety

    · Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
    · Conduct safety checks and report hazards or incidents
    · Ensure correct use of PPE
    · Promote a safe working environment

    Food Safety & Hygiene

    · Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
    · Monitor sanitation of equipment and work areas
    · Follow HACCP and company food safety procedures
    Training & Development
    · Train new employees in operational procedures, safety, and hygiene
    · Mentor team members to improve skills and performance
    · Support management in staff development and evaluations
    Reporting
    · Maintain accurate production records and reports
    · Report operational issues, equipment problems, or staffing concerns
    · Ensure compliance documentation is completed correctly

    Ideal Candidate

    · Has team leadership or supervisory experience in production/manufacturing
    · Understands food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
    · Is organised, proactive, and a strong communicator
    · Can manage people effectively in a fast-paced environment
