How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Health & Safety Advisor

    Location: Ipswich-based with travel across East Anglia (2–3 days per week)

    Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 + Company Vehicle

    Hours: Full-Time, Permanent, Monday–Friday (40 hours per week)

    The Role

    As Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll support teams across the business to maintain and improve health, safety and compliance standards. This includes conducting audits, delivering briefings, supporting incident investigations and championing a strong safety culture across all levels.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Carry out site audits and inspections to ensure safety compliance.

    Support managers and site teams with practical H&S advice.

    Lead or support investigations into incidents and near misses.

    Review and prepare Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).

    Deliver Toolbox Talks, bulletins, and safety briefings.

    Promote a proactive and positive health & safety culture.

    Engage with subcontractors, clients and stakeholders on H&S matters.

    Maintain accurate records in line with legislative requirements.

    What You’ll Need

    Essential:

    NEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)

    Solid knowledge of UK H&S legislation

    Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude

    Full UK driving licence

    Confidence working with site teams and senior management

    Desirable:

    Construction or infrastructure industry experience

    Audit or report writing skills

    Flexible, self-motivated and organised
