How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A precision engineering company based in Stanley, County Durham, which designs and manufactures high-temperature metal seals for aerospace, automotive and power generation sectors is seeking a number of Production Operatives to join its expanding team.

    You will benefit from a private pension scheme, non-contractual Business Performance Related Bonus, 24 days’ annual leave (rising with service) plus Bank Holidays, a working week of 38 hours with an early Friday finish, offering excellent work/life balance.

    This is the ideal role for an Operator to build skills with a successful company offering a modern working environment and excellent training and development opportunities.

    As the Production Operative, your duties will include:

    Undertaking a wide range of production activities and manufacturing processes to produce high-quality components at a high volume and within tight tolerances.
    Following works instructions, engineering drawings and standard operating procedures.
    Small component metal cutting, forming, welding, rolling, and finishing processes.
    Inspection of parts both visually and by use of measuring equipment.
    Accurately completing job cards and routing sheets for all processes.
    Ensuring that all products are of a high quality to uphold the company’s reputation for excellence.
    Previous welding experience is not required for this role as full training will be provided.

    To be a successful Production Operative you will ideally have the following skills and experience:

    Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity
    Excellent attention to detail
    Good literacy, numeracy and IT, able to follow Process Instructions
    Comfortable working to targets, good problem-solving abilities
