How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Position: Hydraulic Test Technician
    Location: Gloucester
    type of position: Permanent

    Working hours: 37 hours per week flex start and finish

    Salary: 35,000 per annum to £38,000

    Hydraulic Test Technician required by industry leading engineering company to work at their Gloucester site. The successful candidate will be responsible for the test of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical assemblies. Detailed written work instructions are followed in accordance with strict Aviation standards

    Main Duties of Hydraulic Test Technician

    The test of units following strict guidelines and instructions set by the Company and its customers, in accordance with required Aviation standards
    Test of Hydraulic components
    Using appropriate test facilities perform required tests to the relevant specification recording results as necessary.
    Ensure traceability is maintained throughout the test processes
    Fault find, strip down and repair of components
    Supporting engineering/ Quality Investigations and project work
    Complete self-inspection of components and related cleaning to enable Quality Inspection and control checks to be carried out.
    The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

    Ability and experience of working on mechanical or hydraulic components. With ability and experience of utilising detailed drawings and other relevant documentation, to aid this requirement.
    Electrical experience is an advantage
    Experience of testing hydraulic units would be an advantage
    Experience of working to close tolerances and time limits
    Strong and demonstrable attention to detail in the build and testing of electrical and hydraulic components
    Ability to follow written instructions, in accordance with required Aviation standards, in the creation and testing of components
    Must have good written and oral skills
    Apprenticeship, equivalent experience or a qualification such as NVQ Level 3 are desired
