How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Town Planner

    Location: Beaconsfield

    Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Town Planner to join their growing team based in Beaconsfield.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Planner to take the next step in their career within a respected private consultancy, working across a wide range of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. You will be joining a collaborative and supportive team environment with genuine opportunities for progression and professional development.

    The Role

    As a Senior Town Planner, you will take a leading role in managing a varied portfolio of planning projects from initial feasibility through to submission and determination.

    Key responsibilities will include:

    Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals

    Undertaking site appraisals and planning policy assessments

    Drafting planning statements and supporting documentation

    Managing project timelines and coordinating consultants

    Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders

    Supporting junior members of the team where required

    Building and maintaining strong client relationships

    Candidate Requirements

    MRTPI qualified (or working towards Chartership)

    Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline

    Demonstrable experience within either the private or public sector

    Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and development management

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Ability to manage projects independently
