How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Mobile HGV Trailer Mechanic
    Location: Andover
    Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

    Our client, a well-established and reputable commercial vehicle operation, is seeking a skilled Mobile HGV Trailer Mechanic to join their team in Andover.

    Enhanced overtime ratesAs a Mobile HGV Trailer Mechanic, you will be responsible for:

    Carrying out service, maintenance, and repairs to HGV trailers at customer sites and roadside locations
    Diagnosing faults efficiently and carrying out repairs in a safe and timely manner
    Ensuring all work is completed in line with manufacturer procedures and health and safety guidelines
    Inspecting trailers and identifying any additional defects or repair requirements
    Completing all job cards and paperwork accurately
    Liaising with the workshop controller or service team regarding job progress and parts requiredTo be successful in this role as a Mobile HGV Trailer Mechanic, you should have:

    Previous experience as a Trailer Mechanic / HGV Trailer Technician / HGV Trailer Fitter is essential
    Strong knowledge of trailer servicing, maintenance, and repair
    Must have own tools
    Be apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent
    Hold a full UK driving licence
    Class 1 or 2 licence desirable
