How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Manufacturing a wide range of well-loved snacks this is an exciting opportunity to join our clients engineering team as a Shift Technician in a fast paced environment.
     
    We are looking for Apprentice Trained, Multi-Skilled Engineers with a Mechanical bias with a good understanding electrically to ensure safety standards and procedures are always prioritised.
     
    Working with the wider team you will be maintaining a variety of machinery including conveyors, ovens, scales, sealers, packaging machinery, flow wrappers, box erectors and much more.

    Key Responsibilities of a Shift Technician:

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across all machinery on site
    Respond quickly to breakdowns and diagnose faults effectively
    Maintain and repair conveyors, fryers, packaging machinery, and associated equipment
    Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine reliability and performance
    Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
    Accurately record maintenance activities and report recurring issues
    Work collaboratively with production teams to minimise downtime Experience and Qualifications required for a Shift Technician 

    Minimum NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Qualification, Time Served Apprenticeship is a must
    Ability to work safely electrically
    Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills 
    Strong communication skills 
    Good manufacturing practices 
    Previous experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG is desirable Salary and Benefits of a Shift Technician

    Annual Salary £58,900 (inclusive of shift allowance)
    23 Days Annual Leave 
    Quarterly Incentive between £1,000 - £3,000 annually (KPI dependant)
