How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEMH Teacher – Full Time
    Start Date: ASAP
    Location: Hull

    GSL Education Hull are currently seeking a resilient and committed SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and dynamic secondary setting on a full-time basis.

    This provision supports students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom require additional support to re-engage with education. The school prides itself on its nurturing approach, strong pastoral support, and commitment to helping students overcome barriers to learning. With a focus on building positive relationships and promoting emotional wellbeing, staff work collaboratively to create a safe and structured environment where every student can succeed.

    The Role:

    Full-time SEMH Teacher position within a specialist setting
    Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs
    Supporting students with complex behavioural and emotional needs
    Implementing effective behaviour management strategies
    Building strong, trusting relationships to support student progress and wellbeing
    Working closely with support staff, SENCO, and external agencies
    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
    Have experience working with SEMH, SEN, or challenging behaviour
    Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and de-escalation skills
    Be patient, resilient, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
    Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people
