How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Role - Pre-Contracts / Commercial Manager

    Location - Farnham / Regional (Hampshire/Surrey border)

    Salary - Up to £80k - £90k (Experience Dependent) + Package

    About the Company

    Our client is a regional powerhouse in the commercial & industrial interior sector, providing end-to-end consultancy, design, and turnkey fit-out solutions. Operating with a "local knowledge, national reach" mantra, they specialize in fast-track projects.

    They are looking for a dual-role Pre-Contracts & Commercial Manager to join their regional team. This individual will be a key figure in the business, overseeing projects from the initial "win" through to final account, ensuring every square foot delivered is as profitable as it is aesthetically stunning.

    About the Role

    This is a high-impact position designed for a commercially astute professional who enjoys the "front end" of a project as much as the final delivery. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between a successful tender and a successful build, managing the financial health of multiple live schemes.

    Key roles and responsibilities include:

    *

    Pre-Contract Management: Leading the transition from bid to site. You will review tender documents, refine budgets, and ensure the delivery team is fully briefed on the commercial nuances of the contract.

    * Commercial Strategy: Taking full ownership of project financials. This includes cost reporting, managing variations, and ensuring cash flow is optimized across your portfolio of projects.

    Procurement & Supply Chain: Vetting and appointing subcontractors. You’ll negotiate terms that protect the company’s interests while maintaining the high-quality standards the firm is known for.

    Risk & Compliance: Identifying potential "contractual traps" early in the pre-construction phase. You will be responsible for mitigating financial risks and ensuring all projects adhere to strict H&S and building regulations.

    Client Liaison: Acting as a senior commercial point of contact. You will build and maintain trust with clients, providing transparent financial updates and navigating complex negotiations with a solutions-focused mindset.
