How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: Accounts Assistant
    Location: Milton Keynes
    Hours: Full time | 8.30am – 5.30pm (40 hours per week)
    Salary: £18.30 per hour

    *Fully Office based

    An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join our client’s successful team on a temp-to-perm basis.

    Duties of an Accounts Assistant:
    • Assist with the month-end close process, including bank reconciliations and supporting balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
    • Prepare and post journals accurately into the finance system
    • Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date
    • Support with the reconciliation of sub-ledger activity to the general ledger
    • Assist in producing monthly reports and expense analysis
    • Support with the preparation and submission of VAT returns
    • Assist with statutory reporting including ONS returns and P11D data
    • Raise and manage service contract invoicing
    • Provide day-to-day support to the wider finance team and assist with ad-hoc finance projects
    • Ensure all financial processes are compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements

    What we would like from you:
    • Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Good organisational and analytical skills
    • Confident working both independently and as part of a team
    • Strong communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • A flexible and proactive approach, with a willingness to learn
