CNC Miller / Borer – Programmer, Setter, Operator

Mazco Recruitment is working with a well-established precision engineering company in Dudley, currently seeking an experienced CNC Miller / Borer (Programmer/Setter/Operator) to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience in medium to large components, looking to work within a high-quality subcontract machining environment.

The Role

You will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery, primarily working on:

* Dahlih 1200x600 VMC (Fanuc Control)

* CNC Milling Machines

* Horizontal Borers

This position involves working as part of a small, skilled team, producing precision components to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

* Program, set, and operate CNC milling and boring machines

* Work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications

* Machine medium to large-sized components

* Carry out in-process inspection and final checks

* Ensure all work meets quality standards and tolerances

* Support wider workshop operations as required

What We’re Looking For

* Proven experience in CNC milling and/or boring (medium to large components)

* Strong programming experience (Heidenhain preferred, Fanuc advantageous)

* Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, including:

* Geometric tolerances

* Machining symbols

* Tight tolerances

* Confident using inspection equipment (micrometers, slip gauges, etc.)

* Experience working within a subcontract machining environment

* Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience
