Job Title: Senior Toolmaker
Location: Leicester
Pay Range: Up to £45,000
Contract Type: Permanent

Our client, a well-established manufacturer specialising in precision toolmaking for injection moulding, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Toolmaker to join their team. This is a key position within the business, requiring a hands-on individual with strong technical expertise and the ability to support and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate will have a background in injection moulding and toolroom environments, with a strong focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities – Senior Toolmaker
• Manufacture, assemble, modify, and maintain high-precision mould tools
• Diagnose and resolve tooling issues to minimise downtime and improve efficiency
• Work with CAD/CAM systems, EDM, CNC machining, and other toolroom equipment
• Ensure all tooling meets strict quality standards and technical specifications
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across tooling and production processes
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members where required
• Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings

Qualifications & Requirements – Senior Toolmaker
• Proven experience as a Toolmaker, ideally within an injection moulding environment
• Strong background working with steel and aluminium tooling
• Advanced experience with CNC machining, EDM, and toolroom practices
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Leadership or mentoring experience is advantageous
• Proactive, hands-on approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
