How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Head of College - Post 16 SEND - Kingston Region

    An inspirational and talented leader is required for a Post 16 SEND college based in the Kingston region. The College specialises in education for SEND learners aged between 16 and 25 years providing courses and study programmes designed to support and empower each student to achieve their aspirations and goals, preparing for adulthood and employability. The College are experts in the SEND sector, leading the way with cutting-edge, creative and innovative approaches. All students are individual and each course is as unique as they are.

    As Head of College, you will liaise with Local Authorities to build relationships and facilitate enrolments. You will have a key role in managing the personnel within the centres, including multi-disciplinary teams, to ensure a high-performance culture and excellent student outcomes. This will include conducting performance appraisals and carrying out Teacher Evaluation Schedules (TES), for which training will be provided.

    The College, set over several sites in the Kingston region, supports over 100 students with special educational needs across multiple locations in the Kingston area.

    This role requires an experienced leader with an indepth understanding of special education (either secondary or further education) to run the Kingston college sites leading high quality educational environments for students with complex special educational needs and disabilities including Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities, Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Moderate Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

    As the Head of College for the Kingston region, you will have a proven ability to lead on and model exemplary teaching practice and develop high quality coaching and training across centres, along with significant experience, knowledge and delivery of the education and training for students with a wide range of complex SEND.

    A Diploma in Education & Training or equivalent and QTS / QTLS or equivalent is essential for this role.
