How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Can you share an example of when you’ve diagnosed or solved a technical issue on machinery, equipment, or production systems, regardless of the industry?
How comfortable are you working with both electrical and mechanical systems, and what types of equipment or controls have you worked with before?
Do you enjoy roles where every day brings a new technical challenge and the chance to work with advanced machinery while continuously developing your skills?

    The Opportunity
This is a great chance to join a well established engineering and manufacturing site that is strengthening its maintenance team to support ongoing growth and investment. This role offers long term stability, a supportive working culture, and the opportunity to work with a wide variety of machinery and technology. Whether you’re already experienced in maintenance or looking to build on a strong technical foundation, you’ll be encouraged to develop your skills through structured training and hands-on experience.
You’ll be part of a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional development, with benefits that include wellbeing support, enhanced holiday entitlement, performance-related bonuses, and access to a range of employee rewards.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Provide Firstline maintenance support for machine and appliance breakdowns.
Diagnose faults across electrical circuits, mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and machine tool centres.
Interrogate and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and control systems.
Install and maintain 3-phase power supplies and support commissioning of new equipment.
Replace spindles, drives, and auxiliary machine tool components.
Deliver both reactive and planned preventative maintenance in line with PPM schedules and compliance standards.
Support machine alignment, repair, and optimisation activities.
Liaise with maintenance support teams regarding spare parts and requisitions.
Complete all required documentation and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Contribute to continuous improvement, 6S standards, and facility objectives.
Mentor trainees and support colleagues to achieve operational goals.
Comply with all HS&E policies, identify hazards, and take corrective action.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
    A relevant time-served industry qualification.
    Experience in machine maintenance.
Ability to use machine controls for fault-finding, ideally Siemens 840D.
Understanding of machine shop, metal treatment, and fabrication processes.
Experience with 5-axis milling or other large, complex machining systems.
    Ability to work shifts.
It’s great if you also have the following:
Experience with machines such as Henri Line, DST, Handtmann, Droop & Rein, or Cincinnati.
    Knowledge of NADCAP requirements.
    Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Confidence mentoring trainees or junior team members
    The setting for the role
This position is based at a large engineering and manufacturing facility in Wrexham (LL12). The site operates a 24/7 shift pattern averaging 42 hours per week and is a unionised environment. The culture emphasises professional development, long-term career growth, and employee wellbeing, supported by benefits such as mental-health resources, Perkbox rewards, and enhanced holiday entitlement.

Millbank Holdings Ltd is an equal opportunities employer committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workforce. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals, regardless of background, and encourage candidates from underrepresented groups to apply.

We are proud to be a member of the Disability Confident Scheme, and we are committed to ensuring an accessible and supportive recruitment process for everyone. If you require any adjustments at any stage, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Millbank operates as both an Employment Agency and an Employment Business
