The Role of the Master Technician
We are seeking an experienced Master Technician (PSV) to join a busy bus engineering operation in Leyton.
This is a senior technical role focused on advanced diagnostics, complex fault finding, and supporting workshop teams to maintain high standards of safety, reliability, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities of the Master Technician
Carry out advanced diagnostics and complex fault finding on PSV vehicles
Support technicians with electrical, mechanical, and electronic repairs
Work on modern bus systems including CAN networks, ECUs, and multiplex wiring
Ensure all work is completed to DVSA and Transport for London (TfL) standards
Lead by example in quality, safety, and productivity standards
Assist with inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to workshop staff
What We’re Looking For from the Master Technician
Proven experience as a Master Technician / Senior PSV Technician / Diagnostic Technician
Strong background in electrical diagnostics and fault finding (essential)
Experience working on buses or coaches (PSV preferred)
Excellent understanding of modern vehicle systems and electronics
Ability to support and guide less experienced technicians
