How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEN Teaching Assistant - Secondary SEN School (Oldham)

    Location: Oldham
    Start Date: ASAP
    Contract: Full-time / Term-time only

    Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? We are looking for a committed and resilient individual to join a specialist secondary SEN school in Oldham, supporting students with complex ASC needs.

    The Role:
    You will work closely with teaching staff to support students with complex autism, helping them to access a tailored curriculum in a structured and supportive environment. This role requires a proactive and patient approach, with a focus on building positive relationships and promoting independence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with complex ASC
    Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes
    Support students with communication, sensory, and behavioural needs
    Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour positively
    Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support EHCP targets
    Promote a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environmentEssential Requirements:

    Proven experience supporting children or young people with ASC in a school setting
    Strong understanding of autism and associated complex needs
    Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
    Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach
    Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young peopleDesirable:

    Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification
    Experience working in a specialist or secondary SEN setting
