How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Plant Fitter

    Bromley

     £45,000 to £50,000 + Overtime + Pension + Holidays

    The Company

    NEOS are working with a well-established and growing plant hire business supplying a wide range of machinery to construction, infrastructure and industrial projects across the UK. With a strong reputation for reliability and service, they are looking to expand their engineering team with an experienced Workshop Engineer.

    The Role

    This is a workshop-based position responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of a fleet of heavy plant and equipment.

    You will play a key role in ensuring machinery is prepared, maintained and returned to site in excellent working condition.

    Key Responsibilities

    Service, maintain and repair a wide range of plant equipment
    Diagnose and fault find mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical issues
    Carry out PDI’s and inspections on equipment
    Prepare machines for hire and ensure they meet safety standards
    Complete job sheets and service records accurately
    Work closely with the hire desk and operations team
    Equipment You May Work On

    Excavators
    Dumpers
    Rollers
    Telehandlers
    Small tools & ancillary equipment
    What We’re Looking For

    Experience working as a Plant Engineer / Workshop Engineer
    Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge
    Basic electrical fault finding skills
    Experience within plant hire, construction or similar environments
    Reliable, organised and able to work independently
    Full UK Driving Licence (desirable)
