How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Technical Sales Specialist – Scientific Equipment (Remote)

    Territory: South of the UK
    Candidate Location: Ideally based between Oxford and Dartford

    Our client is a company that designs and supplies specialist laboratory equipment used in chemical research environments around the world. Their products help scientists work more safely, efficiently, and sustainably.

    Their customers include organisations in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract research, agrochemical, academic, and specialty chemical sectors.

    Our client is looking for a Technical Sales Specialist to manage and grow their business across Northern England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

    This is a field-based role focused on developing new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers. The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market presence and supporting scientists with technical solutions that improve laboratory productivity.

    The Role:

    +Develop new business opportunities and manage the full sales cycle within the territory.

    +Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers through regular visits and communication.

    +Deliver product demonstrations and training, helping customers select suitable laboratory solutions.

    +Maintain accurate sales records and track pipeline activity using the company CRM system.

    +Represent the company at exhibitions and events while monitoring market trends and competitor activity.

    About you:

    +Degree (BSc or higher) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline

    +Experience working with chemists or researchers in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, CROs, biotech, research, or chemical manufacturing

    +Proven track record of achieving sales targets or developing customer relationships
