How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Supervisor – Permanent Role
    Locations: Edmonton

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor on behalf of our clients, with long-term projects based in Edmonton.

    Role Overview

    As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will oversee planned project works and maintenance programmes, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will lead site teams, provide technical support, and act as a key link between operatives, management, and clients.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Supervise on-site mechanical works and day-to-day operations

    * Carry out dynamic risk assessments and identify health & safety hazards

    * Mechanical fault finding and problem solving

    * Oversee and support mechanical installations

    * Plan daily works and allocate appropriate resources

    * Provide technical guidance to site operatives

    * Liaise with clients and project managers regarding access and planning

    * Conduct site inspections and maintain accurate site records/diaries

    * Ensure all safety procedures are followed and incidents are reported

    * Carry out site surveys and attend client meetings

    * Manage stock levels of materials and consumables

    Requirements

    * Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification

    * Strong experience within an on-site mechanical engineering environment

    * Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred

    * Good working knowledge of pumps, motors, pipework, and related systems

    * CSCS card or equivalent

    * Additional certifications (EUSR, IPAF, PASMA, Confined Space, Abrasive Wheels) beneficial but not essential

    * Strong communication and organisational skills

    * Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively

    * Proactive, reliable, and able to perform under pressure
