How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    My client is a global leader in the manufacturing industry.The company's state-of-the-art factory facilities in the UK demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
    Role Description
    The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for conducting quality control tests, utilizing analytical and laboratory skills, operating laboratory equipment, and performing various tasks related to laboratory procedures.
    The successful candidate will be expected to produce technical data according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s), maintain all equipment and instrumentation, and preparing samples for testing. They will report outcomes effectively and communicate/interact with all business functions.
    Salary Range £26,000 - £31,000 (dependant on experience) Mon-Fri (3 shifts)
    Qualification: No formal qualifications but GCSE A-C in Maths and Science is desirable
    Candidate Profile - Laboratory Technician
    * Excellent team working skills
    * Strong communication skills
    * Quality conscious and methodical approach to work, with excellent attention to detail
    * Strong integrity
    * Experience of working in a laboratory environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
    * Flexible
    * Ability to effectively and efficiently manage own workload and work to deadlines
    Responsibilities - Laboratory Technician
    * Performing laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support Quality Assurance and New Product Development
    * Carrying out routine tasks accurately and precisely
    * Preparing specimens and samples; assembling, maintaining and operating standard laboratory equipment
    * Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced
    * Recording and interpreting results to present to senior colleagues, when required
    * Using computers and performing simple mathematical calculations
    * Keeping up to date with technical developments
    * Maintain high housekeeping standards
    * To work safely 100% of the time
    * To ensure that all assigned work is delivered in a timely manner
    * To communicate we with both internal and external customers
    * Any other roles & responsibilities as required by IKO.
