How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Accountant/Practice Manager – Solicitors

    Location : Dorking

    Salary £45-80,000 + bonus

    My client who are based in Dorking are looking for an Accountant/Practice Manager to join their team. My client is growing and the opportunity will allow you to operate within a growing, vibrant environment working closely with the owner in their plan to modernise and develop the firm into a top personal injury practice. The role is ideal for an individual with 2 years’ experience as an accountant or an experienced bookkeepers, however it may be overlooked for the right candidate. The role would require them to be able to work closely with the owner and an accounts assistant in completing the required work.

    Responsibilities

    * Manage the recording of the profit and loss of a business.

    * Manage credit control, bank reconciliation and client account matters.

    * They must have a detailed understanding of the solicitors accounts rules and understand how to manage a relationship with external accountants firms in order to allow for compliance of the solicitors accounts rules.

    * As the firm will be going through a period of growth the candidate can manage ongoing costs this will be essential to the owner.

    * Manage expense control for staff.

    * Managing payroll, PAYE and pension.

    * They must be able to assist in the onboarding process for all new candidates.

    * They must be able to deal with all levels of staff reviews and one to ones.

    * They must be confident on formalising the existing training and human resources process.

    * They will have to be able to assist the senior management team in communication of target compliance and facilitation of training for the staff.

    * Planning of quarterly socials & Christmas party.

    * Managing holiday requests.

    * Managing overtime and other pay requests
