How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Operations Manager – Well Testing
    Permanent position
    Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

    The Role:
    Responsible for the end-to-end operational service delivery of all James Fisher Well Testing activities across the UK, Europe, and Africa. The role provides strong operational leadership, ensuring that all operations are planned, resourced, and executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
    The Operations Manager has direct management responsibility for key operational leadership roles, including the Great Yarmouth Workshop Manager, and provides oversight and support to regional operational teams for Projects Linked to the Great Yarmouth base.
    The role ensures that equipment readiness, maintenance, certification, and workshop activities are aligned with project demands and business priorities.
    Through proactive leadership, strong stakeholder engagement, and effective resource and asset management, the Operations Manager ensures that all Well Testing operations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability while supporting sustainable growth and customer satisfaction across the region.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:
    Operational Efficiency, Compliance & Safety:
    Ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant working environment across all Well Testing operations.
    Implement, maintain, and regularly review operational policies, procedures, and controls in line with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
    Support monthly project invoicing and ensure accurate operational input to financial processes.
    Plan, schedule, and coordinate all operational activities to support efficient project delivery.
    Conduct pre/Post Job briefings and ensure all required documentation, risk assessments, and approvals are completed.
    Ensure all scopes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.Asset & Resource Management (Including IFS):

    Optimise the utilisation and availability of Well Testing assets across all regions.
    Manage the full asset lifecycle, including maintenance, certification, refurbishment, and retirement.
    Maintain accurate asset data, maintenance records, and certification status within IFS Asset Management, ensuring full system integrity and compliance.
    Conduct CAPEX and OPEX appraisals to support asset investment and lifecycle decisions.
    Measure, analyse, and report on asset utilisation, performance, and readiness using IFS and operational metrics.Leadership, People Management & Development:

    Set clear role expectations, objectives, and performance standards for all direct reports.
    Recruit, train, develop, and manage operational personnel to meet current and future business demands.
    Maintain lean operational staffing levels while planning for sustainable growth.
    Conduct performance appraisals in line with company processes and support individual development plans.
    Measure, monitor, and forecast workshop and operational labour capacity to meet workload demands.
    Work with the Training Department to identify competency gaps and ensure appropriate training and certification.Client Relations & Service Delivery:

    Competency Standards & Continuous Improvement:
    Mentor, coach, and support the development of technicians and supervisors and support team.
    Establish, maintain, and enforce competency standards for Offshore Service Technicians.
    Promote a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and proactive problem-solving across all operations.*In addition, to deputise for the Operations Director as and when required.

    What we’re looking for:
    You will be able to demonstrate the ability to build, lead, and sustain a high performing operational delivery team, with a strong focus on service quality, safety, and reliability.
    Drives operational excellence through robust equipment preparation, maintenance standards, and asset readiness, ensuring these standards are carried through from workshop activities to offshore execution.
    Provide visible operational leadership offshore and onshore, ensuring lessons learned are embedded and standards are consistently applied across all projects.

    Key skills, knowledge and experience: 
    Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate significant offshore and workshop experience in a well testing services environment and also have experience within a supervisory capacity.

    *This role is to be based at our Great Yarmouth, Norfolk location therefore, you will need to live within a commutable distance to this location.
