How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Manager – Electrical Services

    Remote - Field-based (Primarily London & South East)

    Salary: £45k - £60k (DOE) + Commission + Car allowance + Benefits

    Working Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (flexibility required)

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fast-growing, multi-service UK provider delivering electrical, drainage, pumping, and lighting solutions to a wide range of commercial clients.

    With significant recent investment and strong year-on-year growth, the business is now expanding its Electrical Services Division, offering a full suite of compliance, maintenance, and project solutions across commercial, retail, industrial, and FM sectors.

    This role is a key strategic hire, focused on accelerating growth across electrical compliance, maintenance, and project services—including emerging areas such as EV charging and solar PV.

    The Role

    This is a highly proactive, hunter-led business development role, responsible for generating new revenue, securing contracts, and building a strong pipeline of opportunities.

    You’ll be targeting FM providers, managing agents, property groups, and multi-site clients, while also leveraging an established customer base to unlock cross-selling opportunities.

    Success in this role will come from your ability to open doors, build trust, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities

    * New business & revenue growth

    * Identify, target, and win new electrical PPM contracts across key sectors

    * Generate new reactive maintenance agreements and ongoing service revenue

    * Build a strong pipeline of small works and project opportunities

    * Deliver against revenue and margin targets

    Client Engagement & Relationship Building

    * Conduct regular face-to-face meetings with clients and prospects

    * Develop relationships with senior stakeholders including FM professionals, procurement leads, and property managers

    * Position yourself as a trusted advisor in electrical compliance and maintenance

    * Identify and drive cross-sell opportunities across a wider service offering

    Commercial & Internal Collaboration

    * Work closely with technical, estimating, and operational teams to develop solutions

    * Support high-level scoping of works and ensure commercial viability

    * Maintain accurate pipeline tracking, CRM updates, and forecasting

    * Provide market insight and competitor intelligence

    Customer Experience

    * Ensure timely delivery of quotes, proposals, and tenders

    * Proactively follow up to maximise conversion rates

    * Support resolution of client issues where needed

    * Promote service innovation and continuous improvement

    About You

    You are a driven, results-focused business developer with a strong track record of winning new business and building lasting client relationships.

    Essential

    * Proven experience in B2B business development within Electrical compliance / M&E / building services/ FM

    * Demonstrated success in hunting and converting new business opportunities

    * Strong understanding of electrical compliance services (EICR, PPM, remedials, lighting, etc.)

    * Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

    * Highly organised, self-motivated, and target-driven

    * Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office

    Desirable:

    * Experience selling electrical projects, EV charging, or solar PV solutions

    * Knowledge of NICEIC, BS:7671, and compliance frameworks

    * Experience working with FM procurement or managing agents

    * Engineering or technical background (electrical or M&E)
