How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    At Spencer Clarke Group, we're working closely with a valued Local Authority partner in Durham to appoint an experienced Family Support Worker to join their Early Help & Family Support Service.

    In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting children, young people and families to achieve positive and sustainable change. You'll work directly with families who require targeted support, helping them build resilience, strengthen relationships and reduce the need for statutory intervention.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Delivering early help and targeted family support through home visits, direct work and practical interventions.
    Completing high?quality assessments, including Early Help Assessments, risk assessments and family plans.
    Coordinating and facilitating family time/contact sessions where required.
    Managing a varied caseload, ensuring timely recording, planning and review of all work.
    Working collaboratively with schools, health professionals, social workers and wider multi?agency partners.
    Promoting the safety, wellbeing and development of children at all times, following safeguarding procedures.
    Key Requirements:

    Experience working directly with children, young people and families in a support, early help or safeguarding setting.
    Strong assessment and report?writing skills.
    Ability to manage a busy caseload and work independently.
    Experience facilitating or supervising family time/contact.
    Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
    Contract Length: 3 months initially with the view of an extension.
    Pay Rate: Starting from £16.25 per hour
    Working pattern - 37 hours per week
